This unique lab is simple to set up, illustrates difficult concepts in an easy-to-understand manner-and is fun! Students get involved by varying the distribution of large steel ball bearings inside the hollow, compartmentalized plastic discs. They can make the discs “center heavy” or “rim heavy” and see dramatically the effects of rotational inertia as they run them down an inclined plane. Comes complete with two disc setups, experiment suggestions, and explanations of the theory.
