Pick it up, shake it, flip it over, let it settle-students will have fun with this unique sediment tube filled with rocks, sand, plant remains, water and more! This simple-design, low-cost tube is the perfect gadget to demonstrate the process of sediment deposition in bodies of water and simulate rock formation to your class. Students can use the pre-assembled Sedimentator to predict the order in which different sediments settle, observe and classify different types of sediments, identify rocks formed from sediments, explain how rocks are formed, and observe how organic matter becomes trapped in sedimentary layers to form fossils.
Tube is made of a heavy plastic with leakproof seals and is 10 1/2" long. A 12-page student activities booklet and teacher's guide included.
