Explore the chemistry behind the nutrition with this experiment that measures the amount of calcium in milk. Students measure the quantity of standard EDTA solution that reacts with calcium ions in milk and determine how much of this essential mineral is present in a typical serving of milk. The microscale titration analysis is fast and easy to perform and gives reliable, repeatable results. Class enthusiasm runs high as students compare the accuracy of their results with the information provided on the nutritional label for milk.
