Vermiculite for biology and life science can operate as a germination medium or as a soil additive. Also contributes buffering capacity and pH stability to soils.
As a germination medium, vermiculite virtually eliminates the problem of damping-off and maintains optimum moisture and aeration levels. As a soil additive, its numerous pores and large internal surface area improve soil texture and help to absorb and then to slowly release water as needed. The chemical nature of vermiculite also contributes buffering capacity and pH stability to soils. This is horticultural grade vermiculite-sterile, nearly neutral in pH, and free of substances toxic to plants.
