Wildflowers are everywhere-in every shape, size and color! There are over 15,000 species in the United States and Canada alone-how can these wildflowers be classified? In this laboratory activity, students will distinguish and classify nine different colorful wildflower samples. Students will explore and examine unique structures associated with wildflowers in order to identify each sample. Each kit includes nine pressed wildflower samples, a wildflower identification guide and a handout with a detailed background section, easy-to-follow procedures and in-depth teacher tips and extensions. Additional Flower Finder Guides for each lab group are recommended but not required.
