After witnessing the instructor’s large scale voltaic cell demonstration, students discuss the different parts of the voltaic cell (battery). A voltaic cell is a device that uses chemical potential energy and converts it to electrical energy. Then students head into the lab and build a voltaic cell from an LED, filter papers and two metal samples.
