In this lab students investigate the galvanized coating on iron squares and how long it takes an acid to remove it. In Part I, students prepare five dilutions of hydrochloric acid to use in their testing. They then add iron squares, one at a time, to the acid dilutions and observe how long it takes the acid to remove the galvanized coating.
