College Level Classic General Chemistry Experiment In this three-part laboratory, a basic solution is first standardized against a known solid acid (KHP). This standardized base solution is then titrated against an unknown acid solution to determine the acid solution's molarity. In the third part, the Ka of the solid acid KHP is calculated from the data of the titration curve obtained from plotting the pH of the solution versus the volume of sodium hydroxide solution added. The lab provides the recommended familiarity with the process of titration using indicators and pH meters. Complete for 24 students working in pairs.
