     Survival Island—Super Value Kit
This simple and fun simulation illustrates that natural resources are limited and depleting them can be disastrous. The game-like simulation mimics the real Easter Island—the catastrophic story of a small island off the Chilean coast. Survival Island has a finite area and resources. Once inhab- ited, the population grows rapidly and decisions about resource use become critical for survival.

Estimating Populations— Super Value Kit
Students capture individuals in a simulated population, “tag” them and release them and back into the population. After multiple trials, students mathematically predict the size of the population and then count the actual population to determine the reliability of the mark/recapture technique.

Frog Pond Population Kit— Super Value Game
This hands-on card game simulates a frog population of a local pond under both natural- and human-influenced situations. As the game progresses, students see first- hand how quickly a frog population can be affected by various factors. The cycles of
the frog population are modeled, graphed and further researched. Includes complete Teacher Notes, reproducible student hand- outs and enough materials for five groups of students.

     Tangent Height Gauge
A simple device used to measure the height of any object. Users sight the top of the object being measured through the two circular sighting rings and alters their posi- tion until the level bubble is centered. The distance from the users to the base of the object plus the distance from the ground
to the users’ eye level is the height of the object. The gauge is constructed of durable ABS plastic.

Sampling Square
Students can easily quantify the types of organisms in a field study! This light- weight, portable sampling square is quick to set up and use. Durable bungee cord running through the square’s pipes allow it to literally pop together. Simply place the 0.25 m2 square on the location of study and count the number of organisms within that square. Available individually or as a classroom set of eight.
