Constructing Model Viruses— Student Activity Kit
Students construct two virus models using sturdy cardstock and relate the shape, struc- ture and genome composition to function. Then they calculate the length of RNA or DNA in each virus and scale the genome proportionally to the size of the model. Inserting the model genome into the virus model completes the model and shows how simple yet complex a virus is. Includes enough materials for 30 students to make both types of viruses.

West Nile Virus Transmission— Super Value Game
The vector-borne disease, West Nile Virus, began in Uganda and was first documented in the United States in New York City. It
has since spread to every state across the country. In this interactive game, students assume the role of a disease vector or host. They witness firsthand how vector-borne diseases spread and the ways they can affect entire ecosystems. Super Value Game is complete for 30 students and is entirely reusable.

Antibody Function—Student Laboratory Kit
In this simulation of antibody diversity
and antibody–antigen binding, students construct an antibody model by selecting from a variety of available heavy and light chain region possibilities to form an IgG antibody. They then investigate binding their unique antibody with different antigen templates to determine if there is a match. Includes enough antibody models for 30 students.

  ELISA—Demonstration Kit
Human Reflex Study—Super Value Laboratory Kit
The body has numerous reflexes that are designed to protect us from harm. Students perform five tests to observe the innate reflexes the body performs in order to maintain homeostasis. Reflex tests include the patellar, Achilles, Babinski, pupillary
and blink reflexes. Kit includes enough materials for 15 groups of students and five reflex hammers. All materials are completely reusable!
ELISA is an acronym for the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay—a widely used test to screen patients for allergies or certain diseases. In this interactive demonstration, students learn how antigens are bound to a support material and also observe interactions between simulated primary and secondary antibodies with antigens and each other. Kit contains no actual blood, blood products or any infectious agents. Includes enough materials to complete the demonstration seven times. A hot plate or microwave is required to prepare agar.
