HAZARD ALERT: Corrosive liquid; stench; store in a Flinn Chem- Saf TM Bag.
Storage: Organic #1
Disposal: #1a
Shelf Life: Laboratory grade of adipoyl chloride has a cloudy appearance. A trace amount of a white solid may be present — it will not interfere with the nylon polymerization reaction. Adipoyl chloride stores very poorly. Avoid buying large quantities. If you are planning to use this material for synthesis of nylon, you need only approximately 5 grams. Consider buying ready-made adipoyl chloride/hexane solution. See next listing, Catalog Number A0185. Color and Odor: Colorless solid with offensive stench.

First Aid
Every science department should have a written first aid policy. Institutions with medical personnel on staff may already have a policy that says instructors should protect, not treat. If this is not the case, the instructors or lab manager should consult with the administration to create a written policy.
