Apron, Plastic, Medium-Duty
Provide excellent chemical resistance for your students with this vinyl plastic apron—a quality garment with which we are proud to associate the Flinn name. Cotton tapes are sewn into the garment to form the neck loop and waist ties. Every edge of the vinyl plastic has been folded over and sewn. The cotton tape neck loop and waist ties will not easily pull away from this garment. Apron size is 30" wide and 36" long.
Apron, Polyethylene, Disposable
An inexpensive polyethylene apron that provides protection against most solvents, acids and detergents. One-piece construction includes neck loop and waist ties. Apron is very lightweight (2 mil) and may be reused several times. Apron size is 24" wide x 42" long.
Bags, Chem-SafTM
See page 122.
Biohazard Disposal Bags
Load with used pipets, Petri dishes, culture tubes and blood-typing materials. Bag and contents are then sterilized at 121 °C (250 °F) prior to disposal. An indicator patch changes color to note the completion of autoclaving. Printed in high-visibility red with the standard biohazard symbol and disposal directions. Bags measure 12" x 24".
Bottle Carrier, Safety
Bottle Carrier, Safety, Polyethylene
Polyethylene carrier designed to hold a 2.5-L acid bottle and to cushion it during transport. If your chemical storage area is some distance from the preparation area, this safety bottle carrier should be present.
Bottle Carrier, Safety, Rubber
A safe way to transport 2.5-L and 4-L bottles. Durable rubberized construction resists most solutions, acids, and bases and will last for years. Centering ring in bottle carrier base holds bottle 1" away from carrier inside wall, reducing the chances of accidental breakage. Color is black.

   Transporting Chemicals Between Classes
Secondary containment should always be used for carrying bottled chemicals between the storeroom and your classroom or between labs. A rubber safety carrier or plastic safety carrier designed to cushion the bottle is the best option. A 5-gallon plastic bucket will also provide secondary containment but is not as safe. Secondary containment is important even if you use a cart to transport chemicals.
Another solution for providing secondary containment is to purchase chemicals in PVC-coated glass or plastic bottles. The bottle may break, but the PVC outer envelope retains the chemical and glass shards. Spend a few extra dollars and purchase your concentrated acids in PVC-coated glass bottles. All other chemicals from Flinn come in either plastic or PVC-coated glass bottles. Rely on Flinn to make your classroom safer.
