While the product is expensive, a little goes a long way and is a safer option than using dichromate/sulfuric acid.

 Cleaning and Scratching Glassware
Scratches are a real enemy of glass. Why? A scratch causes a stress point in the glass around which a break will occur. Have you ever watched glass being cut? The first thing done is to scratch or scribe the glass. Pressure is placed on the scratched line, and a clean break occurs. If you can clean glassware with- out using wire brushes that may scratch—great. The sooner dirty labware is washed, the easier it is to clean. Use Flinn-ItTM Cleaner (found on this page) for tough-to-clean jobs.
