           LULL-A-FLYTM continued
Disposal: #5
Shelf Life: Indefinite
Soluble: Alcohol and water.
Color and Odor: Colorless liquid with licorice odor.
Technical Note: The scent is added to reduce the undesirable ammo- nia odor. This substance does not act to anesthetize Drosophila as quickly or easily as ether. If the instructions are followed carefully, it is possible to perfect the anesthetic process. If you have tried other ether substitutes and did not like them, you will not like Lull-A-FlyTM since the material is the same (i.e., triethylamine). However, Lull-A-Fly is a much safer substance than ether.

 Two-Step Accident Prevention
1. Identify the potential hazard.
2. Eliminate the hazard.
Example: You have long purchased acid in plain glass bottles. Should a break occur, a serious problem would result. Buy your acids in PVC (polyvinyl chloride)–coated bottles. If a break
occurs, you have a plastic sack full of broken glass and acid instead of a serious problem.
