Pipets, continued
Mohr Pipet
Calibrated “to deliver” (EX or TD). Colorcoded band at top for easy size identification. Glass.
Serological Pipet
The medical/clinical community considers these “throwaway” pipets. You will find that they can be washed at least 10 or more times before the graduations come off. Glass pipets are calibrated “to deliver.” The 10 mL size is ideal for transferring volumes for any purpose.
Vistalab® Wobble-Not Serological Pipette
Wobblenot serological pipets are a revolutionary, new design and the only serological pipets that will give you two zones of contact with relatively low insertion force. No jamming! This results in maximum stability for your pipetting. No other serological pipet comes close to achieving the same amount of Wobblenot! Package of 200.
Serological Pipets, Polystyrene
Sturdy, individually wrapped, sterile plastic serological pipets are durable for student use. Pipets can be reused with proper cleaning. Affordable enough to be disposable if necessary. Package of 50.

Use a Pipet
Never Pipet by Mouth!
1. Fill the pipet just past the graduation mark by using a pipet bulb.
2. Quickly remove the bulb and place your forefinger over the upper end of the pipet.
3. Release your forefinger slowly until the bottom of the meniscus is on the graduation mark.
3.
4. Touch the pipet tip to the inside wall of the vessel.
5. Allow the liquid to drain into the receiving vessel.
6. Touch the tip of the pipet to the side of the receiving vessel until
the flow ends.
7. Do not force out the liquid remaining in the tip of the pipet
unless the pipet says “TC” (to contain) on it.
8. Practice your technique using tap water.
