Chromatography Column
Separate and purify chemical compounds from mixtures using this chromatography column. Column comes with a coarse frit to hold the stationary phase in place and prevent it from running out the column. The PTFE plug allows for control over the flow of the mobile phase, easing collection of individual chemical samples. The heavy-duty glass chromatography column is 13 × 450 mm with a spherical joint (SJ) size of 35/20.
Chromatography Columns, Economy Choice
Introduce students to column chromatography using these small- scale chromatography columns. Polypropylene columns are a must to perform extraction, separation, and collection of pigments from a variety of plant produce and colored beverages. Each package includes 15 columns with caps and tips, enough for 30 students working in pairs. Instructions are included for extracting and separating color pigments of leafy green vegetables. Package of 15.

Do Paper Chromatography
1. Place a small dot of ink from a water soluble marker onto the chromatography paper about 1 cm from the bottom. 2. Place a small amount of water in a graduated cylinder.
3. Hang the chromatography paper in the cylinder so the ink dot is just above the solvent level.
4. Watch as the ink and solvent travel up the paper.
5. If the ink contains a mixture of dyes, they will often travel upward at different rates and separate into different regions. 6. Try different colored inks.
