Hofmann Electrolysis Demonstration Apparatus
Calibrated for precise measurements, this electrolysis apparatus is of superior quality—providing accurate results that are quantifiable. The clear glass collecting tubes are calibrated for easy measurement and observation. While this apparatus is primarily designed to hydrolyze water, it can be used for other compounds as well. The apparatus has its own rugged ring stand base. The built-in thistle tube and stopcocks make for easy no-mess filling. Operates on a 9-V battery or DC power supply. Platinum electrodes are included. Replacement glass assembly and electrodes are available separately.

The porous cup prevents the direct reaction between the Zn metal and Cu2+. The Cu2+ ions are contained in the porous cup.
Metal Electrode Set
Contains six assorted metal electrodes. Includes one strip each of alumi- num, brass, copper, iron, lead and zinc. All are 6" x 1⁄2", except zinc, which is 5" x 1⁄2".
Voltaic Cell with Porous Cup
Includes a polystyrene voltaic cell body with a porous cup that sits inside, two electrode brackets and seven electrodes—one each of iron, carbon and aluminum and two each of copper and zinc.
