Immersion Oils
High quality immersion oils for microscopy that meet or exceed DIN standards . These oils, both high (1250cs) and low (150cs) viscosity, are formulated to be non-drying and non-hardening to prevent damage to and time consuming cleaning of microscope objectives and slides . For optimal resolution, these low fluorescence oils have a refractive index (RI) of 1 .515 under standard conditions and are PCB free . Packaged in convenient, squeezable dropper-type bottles .
Balsam
Balsam hardens to a pale yellow as the solvent evaporates . With a refractive index similar to that of the slide glass (n=1 .55), balsam is used to mount dry specimens on microscope slides . Balsam is dissolved in xylene .
Mounting Media
Low viscosity mounting media is an acrylic resin and will not crack or discolor with age . It is quick-drying and soluble in toluene and xylenes . This low viscosity media spreads and is suggested for use with a cover slip .
Stain Set, Basic
Six commonly used staining solutions selected for
a wide variety of applications; each supplied in a
volume of 100 mL . Includes information on recommended uses . Stains included: methylene blue, Loeffler’s; Lugol’s iodine; eosin yellow, 1% alcoholic; methyl green, 1% aqueous acidified; sudan III, 0 .5% alco- holic; and Wright’s stain, 0 .3% alcoholic .
