Be a Mineral Detective—
What’s My Mineral?
Mineral Rummy—Super Value Game
As students play this card game, they learn about the chemical composition of common minerals. Each deck includes 16 colorful photo cards illustrating minerals from major groups. Each deck also includes 55 ion cards that students draw to form their minerals. Critical thinking skills are employed as students develop strategies to be the first player to use all the ion cards in hand to make minerals. Complete for 24 students playing in groups of six. All materi- als are reusable!

Mineral Identification Kit
Thirty different types of mineral specimens are tested by students for hardness, specific gravity, color, streak, cleavage and luster. Five test pieces of each specimen are provided in compartmentalized collection boxes. A detailed 67-page teacher’s guide is provided.

Student Laboratory Kit
Super Value Game
Student “detectives” gather evidence about the eight unknown mineral specimens by performing numerous laboratory tests. Students then use the “clues” and prop- erties gathered to identify each mineral
by name. Reproducible student laboratory sheets and teacher notes with sample data are included. Kit contains 15 sets of mineral testing chips, 1 large teacher display set of each mineral, 15 Observation and Evidence 11"x 17" data tables and all materials needed to perform this lab.
AP5949 | $89.70
Playing in pairs, each student is challenged to identify the mystery mineral of an oppo- nent, who is of course trying to do the same! The first student to discover the oppo-
nent’s mystery mineral by careful deductive reasoning is the winner. Sets of 24 playing cards display full-color photos of a different common mineral on each card. Complete with teacher notes, instructions, student worksheet and enough reusable materials for 30 students playing in pairs.

Formation & Identification of Minerals—Student Laboratory Kit
Students identify a variety of common and useful minerals based on their physical properties, including color, luster, hardness, cleavage, and streak. They then measure the specific gravity of the minerals to aid in the identification process. Students grow their own beautiful mineral crystals to understand how and why crystals form beneath the Earth’s surface. Kit includes student worksheets and mineral specimens and materials for 28 students working in pairs. AP7168 | $112.50
