GEOLOGY: ROCKS
Rock Formation and Identification—
Student Laboratory Kit
Students conduct a series of hands-on exper- iments using 68 rock specimens! As students observe the distinct characteristics of each type of rock, they learn about the impor- tance of the rock cycle. Students will also
be able to clearly identify the three different rock-forming processes—igneous, meta- morphic and sedimentary. Complete for 30 students working in pairs.

Rock Cycle Adventure—
Density of the Earth Kit—
Super Value Kit
Student Laboratory Kit
Send your students on an adventure to discover how the calcium in their breakfast juice could have once been part of a volca- nic eruption! This interactive exercise helps students understand the dynamic nature
of the rock cycle. A roll of the specially designed colored die determines the next step in the process—it may be weathering, melting or even remaining in place. Includes reusable material for 30 students.
In this activity, students use water displace- ment to make smaller scale measurements of the density of rocks. Averaging and comparing the results gives students insight into how the density and mass of the Earth are calculated. An excellent activity to teach students about the layers of the Earth and to reinforce important math skills. Complete for 30 students working in pairs.

Classroom Rock Collection
Our most complete rock collection—51 specimens in all! Igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rock specimens have been carefully selected to show the characteristic features of each rock group. Rocks are 11⁄2" x 11⁄2" in size, labeled for easy identification and packaged in compartmentalized collec- tion boxes.
AP4996 | $77.00
Watch as stalactites and stalagmites form before your eyes! A great demonstration
for chemistry and earth science alike. The double replacement reactions can be used to illustrate a variety of science concepts rang- ing from stalactite and stalagmite creation to precipitate formation. Enough chemicals for seven demonstrations.
