How to Use Handheld
Microscopes
Handheld microscopes are magnifica- tion devices that are small, portable and easy to use. They are best for three-dimensional objects, such as leaves, coins, rocks and small animals like insects, and some work with slides as well. Most simple handheld micro- scopes use batteries and have a built-in focusing wheel and 30X magnification. Digital handheld microscopes do not have eyepieces, but instead have a light sensing chip that transmits the image to a screen.
Digital handheld microscopes include
a software or application program. Once the program for the microscope
is installed and launched, the digital microscope can be connected via a USB cable or wirelessly through a WiFi or Bluetooth® connection.
Images and video can be recorded with the touch of a button and sometimes audio as well! The Digital Microscope, Handheld Digital WiFi Microscope (Catalog No. MS1114) is capable of connecting to up to three devices at the same time (Apple and Android). A live feed is displayed directly on the connected mobile devices!
