Elements, Compounds and Mixtures—Super Value Laboratory Kit
Includes four activities:
• A paper-and-pencil activity familiarizes students with common element symbols and names.
• A “classification of matter” activity uses a flow chart to classify materials as elements, compounds or mixtures.
• A lab activity lets students separate a mixture consisting of sand, salt, zinc and iron filings.
• Then students chemically react aluminum with copper(II) chloride to produce and isolate a new element and compound.
Super Value Kit is complete for 5 classes of 30 students working in pairs.

Build Models of Molecules— Guided-Inquiry Kit
In this introductory guided-inquiry activity, students use reasoning skills to build mole- cules from the ground up using models. Students then determine and draw the structural formula for each molecule. The activity is divided into five parts, starting with a teacher demonstration.

Flinn Chemical Element Set
The Periodic Table of the Elements comes alive with the Flinn Chemical Element Set. Students will study the similarities and differ- ences between 24 elements and compare the placement of these elements on the periodic table. You can finally show these similarities and differences instead of just talking about them.

A Demo A DayTM—A Year of Physical Science Demonstrations
Nearly 200 demonstrations in physical science to engage and enlighten your students. All of these terrific demonstrations were developed and written by expe- rienced teachers who use them in their
own classrooms. Each activity is designed
in an easy-to-follow, concise format and includes application, theory, materials, safety precautions, procedure, chemical disposal information and references where applicable.
Equal Mass Set
Mass, volume and density are concepts you teach over and over again during the school year in many different ways. Help students understand the relationships between mass, volume and density with our Equal Mass Set. Five cylindrical objects, made of differ- ent materials with differing lengths, all have exactly the same mass and radius. Thus, density is inversely proportional to length. Contains five cylinders: brass, aluminum, nylon, PVC and polyethylene—all 1⁄2" in diameter and 15 g in mass. Classroom set includes 15 sets of materials, enough for 30 students working in pairs.

Balancing Equations— Super Value Kit
Use this hands-on kit to make the abstract concept of atoms become more visual and real for students. Students count and manip- ulate the “atom” chips until all atoms in the equation are conserved and then write the final equation on the provided data sheets. All materials are reusable.
