Demonstrate a basic property of electromagnetism in a safe and easy to-use device. Force Between Conductors Demonstrator consists of a metal frame that supports two long, straight conductors. A pushbutton applies a voltage, momentarily producing a large current in the conductors. The conductors are able to rotate freely about the vertical axis to show attraction or repulsion due to the mechanical force between them. Voltage can be applied in various configurations: series or parallel, and same sense or opposite sense. Simply connect the heavy duty cords to the appropriate binding posts. Indicator arrows can be adjusted to show the direction of current in each conductor. Students will be fascinated watching the conductors attract and repel due to the induced magnetic fields. This simple, direct method demonstration will allow your students to observe first-hand this electromagnetic phenomenon. Operates at 110 VAC.
