Safety: Before conducting the lab, review with the class the safety precautions on the student page. Remind students that acids and bases are skin and eye irritants; and to avoid contact of chemicals with skin and eyes. Students should wear chemical splash goggles and chemical-resistant gloves and apron. Remind students to wash hands with soap and water before leaving the laboratory.
