The Bio-Rad PowerPac HC High-Current Power Supply is designed for demanding electrophoresis and blotting applications, including large agarose separations, SDS-PAGE, and western blot transfers. It provides a programmable output range of 5–250 V and up to 3.0 A / 300 W, offering enough power for high-current gel runs. The unit supports constant voltage, constant current, or constant power output modes, with automatic crossover to maintain run stability. A backlit 2-line (16-character) LCD displays all relevant run parameters, and the built-in timer can be set from 1 minute up to 99 hours 59 minutes. The PowerPac HC features four pairs of recessed banana jacks for parallel connections if needed, and includes safety features like no-load detection, overload/short-circuit detection, ground-leak detection, rapid-resistance-change detection, over-voltage and over-temperature protection, and input fuses for line protection. Its sturdy build and flexible programming make it well suited for teaching and research labs requiring reproducible, high-throughput electrophoresis or blotting conditions.
