Preparing and Diluting Solutions: Concentration and Absorbance—ChemTopic™ Lab Activity

Solutions are important in chemistry, but how are accurate concentrations prepared? With the Preparing and Diluting Solutions: Concentration and Absorbance—ChemTopic™ Lab Activity, a copper(II) sulfate solution is prepared then diluted to prepare a series of solutions with different concentrations. The relationship between the concentration of a solution and its absorbance is investigated, and the accuracy of the solution preparation and dilution procedures is determined.
