Product Details

Volvox. Large, photactic colonies of Chlamydomonas-like cells surrounded by a common gelatinous matrix. Reproduces asexually via the development of daughter colonies within the hollow sphere of the parent colony. Flagellates are unicellular organisms characterized by movement using one or more flagella. Flagella act in locomotion. Below flagellates are all photosynthetic species with red eyespots. Internal organelles are easily visible using a compound microscope with a 40X objective. Flagellates prefer calm, room temperature water. Culture contains enough live food to last several days. Aerate daily using included pipet.
