General, Organic and Biological Chemistry There are more than nine million organic compounds! What factors are responsible for this tremendous number? What makes all of these compounds different? Students build organic molecules using models to understand the basic structure of organic compounds. Once constructed, students use the models to draw structural formulas of organic compounds, determine the general formulas for different classes of hydrocarbons, and develop the concept of isomers of organic compounds. Complete for six student groups.
