Product Details
In the Middle Ages, the trebuchet was used to hurl stones hundreds of feet farther than any catapult. Now, in the 21st Century, students can quickly build a desktop-size model and discover for themselves why this device was so effective. With this hands-on tool students can study topics such as first-class levers, conservation of energy, torque, gravitational force, and projectile motion. Students will soon learn how the relatively small motion of the counterpoise weight and the whipping action of the sling launch projectiles so efficiently. Parts are provided on one laser-cut balsa sheet. Assembly is required. Soft clay is included to be used as the projectile. Completed trebuchet is 12" tall.
