We’re talking hot! Students will be astounded at the temperatures and rate of increase achieved with this solar furnace. This solar furnace is constructed with two major components—a concentrator and a receiver. A 30.5-cm mirrored parabolic dish is the concentrator, and the receiver is a copper container positioned at the focal length (18.5 cm) of the parabolic dish. Extreme temperatures are generated by the furnace, and it may be used to boil liquids or melt various materials and elements. Disassembles easily for storage and comes complete with a Teacher’s Guide.
