Product Details

A colorless solution is poured from a large beaker into four smaller beakers producing solutions of “strawberry soda,” “blueberry soda,” “red wine” and “water.” Mixing the resulting solutions from the first three beakers produces “red wine.” The three beakers are refilled with wine and subsequently all four are poured back into the large beaker to produce water. Teacher Demonstration Notes included.

Hydrochloric acid solution, 2 M, 100 mL
Iron(III) chloride, 5 g
Phenolphthalein solution, 15 mL
Potassium thiocyanate solution, 10 mL
Sodium fluoride solution, 70 mL
Sodium hydroxide solution, 2 M, 25 mL
Thymolphthalein solution, 15 mL
