The Go Direct Pyranometer measures the power of electromagnetic radiation. It is sensitive to near infrared, visible, and UV radiation, where 90% of solar energy is concentrated. It reads in watts per square meter, so it is great for experiments with solar cells and calculating their efficiency.
It has a weatherproof sensor head with a dome-shape top to allow it to handle a wide range of sun angles.
The robust rechargeable battery offers long battery life and provides always-ready operation when using the sensor wirelessly. Monitor battery life directly from the Vernier Graphical Analysis® app, as well as LabQuest® 3. Should the battery run low, simply connect the sensor to the charging cable and keep on collecting—no interruptions or inconvenience to you or your students.
