360Science™: Sordaria Genetics

In this investigation, students gain a better understanding of measuring map distances. Students begin by counting 100 asci on prepared slides. Each slide contains ruptured perithecia from a crossover culture plate of black and tan sordaria. Using their data students calculate the distance the gene is from the centromere.
