The DNA Extraction Reagent Pack allows students to extract chromosomal DNA from various prokaryotic and eukaryotic samples for various downstream applications including PCR amplification, DNA sequencing and barcoding, restriction endonuclease digestions, and cloning. The spin column-based procedure can be completed in as little as 15 minutes, and DNA may be eluted into either water or TE (Tris/EDTA) buffer. The reagent pack may be used as a stand-alone DNA extraction kit for student projects and research, including course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs), or as a component of Bio-Rad’s DNA barcoding kits.
Use of the DNA Extraction Reagent Pack requires 2.0 ml microtubes, not included. Microtubes may be purchased separately (2239430EDU) or with the DNA Extraction Reagent Pack as part of the DNA Extraction Module (12016408EDU).
