          MEASUREMENT & DENSITY
     Density Rod
Simple device with a multitude of demon- stration possibilities. The rod responds to the changes in density of a liquid by sink- ing or rising. As the density of the liquid
is changed, the rod moves up or down. It sinks in warm water, but floats in cold water. Comes with instructions and detailed expla- nation of density theory.

Density Cube Set
This is a handy, low-cost set of 10 one-inch cubes cut from modern materials. Use these precision cubes to perform a variety of density experiments. The set contains one cube each of aluminum, steel, brass, copper, acrylic, nylon, poplar, oak, willow and polythylene.

Reverse Density Rod
While the normal density rod (AP4632) sinks in warm water and floats in cold water, the reverse density rod works just the opposite! It will float in water 30–35 oC and sink in cool water! Using both rods will enhance your ability to make density meaningful to your students.

Specific Gravity Specimens,
Set of 10
      Metal Density Cube Set,
Determine the specific gravity of ten differ- ent materials and then use the density values to identify each material. Set of
10 specimens includes aluminum, brass, copper, glass, graphite, lead, polyvinyl chlo- ride, polyethylene, steel and polystyrene. Four-page handout includes background, lab activity procedure and reproduc-
ible student data table, calculations and questions.

Measurement Challenge—
A Density Super Value Guided-Inquiry Kit
Students learn to make accurate measure- ments, estimate to the proper level of certainty and apply significant figures rules in this hands-on activity. Includes tradi- tional density experiment, a higher level prediction activity and an open-ended
lab. Teaching ideas, reproducible student masters and 30 density blocks are included. Super Value Kit is for 30 students working individually.

FLINN SCIENTIFIC I MEASUREMENT & DENSITY 13
Economy Choice
Reduce your density lab costs with this economical set of four metal cubes. Students measure the densities of the four metal blocks and then determine their compositions. Simple kit is effective for teaching density at a great value! One-inch metal cubes in the set are aluminum, steel, copper and brass. Instructions are provided.
