    Build Models of Molecules—Guided-Inquiry Kit
In this introductory guided-inquiry activity, students use reasoning skills to build mole- cules from the ground up using models. Students then determine and draw the structural formula for each molecule. The activity is divided into five parts, starting with a teacher demonstration.
Introduction to Electron Structure—Student Laboratory Kit
In this activity, 15 workstation “atoms” are constructed, each consisting of an energy level diagram, a symbol for a neutral atom or ion and bingo chips representing elec- trons. Students correctly fill the energy levels with the proper number of electrons for each neutral atom or ion. Complete for 30 students working in pairs.

IMSA Fusion—Materials Science: Living in a Material World
Students embark on an 8,000-year journey to see how the development of Materials Science has shaped the course of human civilization. Explore the world of manmade objects by exam- ining relationships between molecular structure and materials properties. From Stone Age tools to modern alloys and polymers, students will test, analyze and create complex materials from simple building blocks.

Is There Sodium in Bananas? Flame Test Demonstration Kit
This flame test demonstration provides a safe, unique method for observing flame test colors of metal ions—no flammable solvents required! Demonstrate the charac- teristic colors produced by three different metal ions, and then let students identify which ions are present in bananas. Concepts covered include properties of metals, atomic structure, emission spectra and nutrients in food.
