Microscopes—Flinn Economy
Flinn Economy Compound Microscope
Welldesigned, budgetfriendly microscopes with cordless operation are the top choice for introductory biology classes. Each Flinn economy microscope has a compact, chemicalresistant metal body that will stand up to years of use. The accessible coarse and fine focus knobs move smoothly with an allmetal rack and pinion system and rack stop to prevent damage.
Is power or counter space a limiting factor in your situation? Builtin power supplies and rechargeable batteries are a practical solution for your lab. Use them with any laboratory design or take them in the field! The energyefficient LED illumination extends the battery life for unin terrupted allday use.
Dependable optics meet high industry standards. The achromatic eyepiece is fixed in place to prevent loss and damage. Achromatic DIN objective lenses ensure sharp viewing of an array of specimens. Objectives are individually packaged in a dustfree environment and arrive clean and ready to install.
MS1121 is easy to operate and maintain and is suitable for viewing eukaryotic cells and tissue samples. It is equipped with a triple nose piece housing three objective lenses, stage clips and an iris diaphragm with a singlelens condenser.
MS1119 is the same microscope as MS1121 but with a dualhead. Perfect for beginners or students with fine motor difficulty. An instruc tor or assistant can view through the top tube, guiding the student toward success. Give direct instruction to students to improve their experience! Dualhead microscopes are also a budgetfriendly option for creating a digital microscope. Combine with the Celestron Digital Microscope Imager (Catalog No. MS1116) to create a digital micro scope for under $500.
MS1123 has the features of a highend microscope at an exceptional value. In addition to the triple nosepiece and iris diaphragm, MS1123 also has a mechanical stage and ABBE condenser. Your students will precisely scan slides and measure cells and organelles using the high quality mechanical stage. Once honed in, students can control the contrast and sharpen the image at high magnification with the ABBE condenser.
MS1122 has the same quality features of the MS1123 with the addition of a 100X oilimmersion lens. High magnification allows for characterization of bacteria and greater resolution of major cell organ elles. If your class engages in a significant amount of microbiology or histology, consider purchasing microscopes with a 100X objective lens.
The Economy Digital Compound Microscope (MS1118) is the same popular design as the other economy microscopes! These digital micro scopes are easy to use—simply connect the USB cable to a computer, install and launch the included software and instantly see the specimen on the screen. Point your students toward success by projecting the live microscope feed. Show practical skills like focusing through the field of view, scanning the slide for specimens, and recognizing pesky artifacts.
Equip each student with a digital microscope, and they can use the software to capture images or videos. Students can quickly annotate their photos and make important connections between structure and function. The software is user friendly and includes editing to ensure the best results. Software is compatible with Windows operating systems.
