Ruled Microscope Slides
Here is an economical way to quantify microscopic objects. These specially lined microscope slides each feature 64 2­mm squares. The printed grid allows students to perform a variety of activities includ­ ing the counting of cells in a known area, measuring the movement of microlife, and more! 15 slides are included in one set. A sheet of 30 ruled microscope peel and stick labels is also available.
Depression Slides
Used to examine living microorganisms in a hanging drop. Depression is approximately 15 mm in diameter and 0.8 mm deep. Slide is 25 x 75 mm and 1.0 mm thick. ML1438 slides have ground edges and 45­degree corners.
Flinn Slide Gel
Create your own “microscopic aquarium” on a
microscope slide with no worry about the organ­
isms drying up and dying. This unique gel material—Flinn Slide Gel—allows oxygen and waste gases to diffuse without evaporation. Organisms can survive and swim freely for hours—even days— allowing for in­depth studies and observations. Ideal for larger microorganisms such as Daphnia, Hydra, and Planaria. Well Chamber
These well chambers are large enough to fit into a slide projector but are thin enough to view using a compound microscope. Adding a few drops of pond water to the slide gives students the ability to view a variety of life in a natural environment, rather than squeezed under a cover slip. Made of plastic with tight­fitting lids, the well cham­ bers are durable and reusable with no sharp edges. Chamber itself is 23 mm in diameter and holds a milliliter of water. Entire unit measures 5 cm square. Package of 5.
