Apparatus and Supplies
Tubes, Centrifuge, continued Centrifuge Tube
Flint glass, ungraduated, conical, 15 mL.
Microcentrifuge Tubes
High-quality, autoclavable polypropylene “reaction” tubes. The snug- fitting shield-shape hinged caps are readily manipulated with one hand, yet will stay closed during use. Added thickness at tubes’ coni- cal bottoms prevent failure and leakage. The standard 1.5-mL (10.6 x 39.5 mm) tubes have frosted writing areas. Available in three colors in dispenser boxes of 500.
Centrifuge Tube Racks, Cardboard
Sturdy cardboard rack for centrifuge tubes. Holds up to 25 tubes. Easy to use and recyclable.
Tubes, Demonstration
Glass Demonstration Tube
Some wonderful chemistry concepts can be inves-
tigated with this glass demonstration tube. Colorful
demonstrations of acids and bases, pH, indicators,
and the solubility of gases can be displayed for the whole class to see. The formation of a solid from the diffusion of vapors can be easily seen. Even equilibrium can be explored in the tube. The 24"-long clear flint glass tube has an outer diameter of 14 mm. The tube’s heavy wall thickness provides rigidity and reduces breakage. Two rubber stoppers are provided. ChemFax with sample demonstration included.

Laboratory Safety Course for Undergraduates
Flinn Scientific’s online
laboratory safety course
covers responsible
disposal techniques,
proper use of PPE, the
use of SDS, chemical
and physical hazard
recognition, chemical
hazard categorization,
and procedures for
handling exposure situ-
ations. The course uses
an interactive approach to present the content that combines videos, graphics, animations, text, formative and summative assessments, and a digital safety contract. Student-level and classroom/section- level data are reported in an online, faculty dashboard. Faculty and lab managers can view the course content prior to adoption decisions.
