Dialysis Tubing
Regenerated, seamless cellulose membrane tubing for dialysis demon- strations. Normal molecular weight cut-off is 12,000 to 16,000, and pore size is approximately 25 Angstroms. Tubing can be boiled or autoclaved and has a pH stability range of 5 to 9. Choose from three widths, each in three lengths.

Disposable Dialysis Tubing Clamps FB1232
Dialysis Tubing Clamp
One-piece polypropylene clamp eliminates tying knots in dialysis tubing. Unique, reusable clamp locks over ends of tubing to form a bag ensuring a leakproof seal. Fits tubing with flat width up to 45 mm.
Disposable Dialysis Tubing Clamps
Finally, an inexpensive dialysis tubing clamp that works! Just twist the end of the wet dialysis tubing a few times, place the clamp over the twisted area, and squeeze the vise-like clamp together. It will not pull off nor will any molecules diffuse through the clamped area. Dispose of the clamps along with the used dialysis tubing. Package of 100 clamps.
Dialysis Bag Holder
Strong plastic clip designed to fasten over the rim of a large beaker to easily suspend dialysis tubing bag. Holder may be marked for sequenc- ing. Six per package.

Prepare Dialysis Tubing for Use
• Dialysis tubing is a semipermeable membrane through which small molecules can easily pass, but large ones cannot.
• In most cases, the tubing simply needs to be washed with distilled or deionized water and soaked for 5 to 10 minutes prior to use.
• Once wet, the tubing should not be allowed to dry as the integrity of the material would be compromised.
• A simple means of removing trace metal contami- nants from the dialysis tubing (if it is suspected that they may alter experimental results) is to immerse the tubing in a beaker of distilled or deionized water, add
a pinch of EDTA (ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid, disodium salt) and heat gently to just below boiling. Rinse the cooled tubing with distilled or deionized water prior to use.
• Dry tubing may be stored in the polyethylene bag indefinitely if tightly closed and protected from moisture. Once wet, the tubing must be stored in distilled or deionized water to which is added 1% sodium benzoate (1 gm per 100 mL water) as a preservative. Again, rinse just prior to use. If possible, refrigerate wet-stored tubing.
• To prevent contamination, wear gloves when handling dialysis tubing.
