Classifying Living Things—
Super Value Kit
By: The Flinn Staff
Introduce your students to the six Kingdoms through the process of classification. Students view a set of illustrated cards and use simple, dichotomous keys to determine the appropriate Kingdom and phylum for each individual organism. In the process of classifying the organ- isms, students will develop an understanding of each individual’s role in an ecosystem. A fun way for students to learn and understand biodiversity.
Super Value Kit is complete for 30 students working in pairs. All materials are reusable.

Principles of Classification—
Super Value Kit
By: The Flinn Staff
Students will learn all the key principles of classification as they work with the hands-on materials in this kit. Common nuts, bolts and screws are the objects to be classified! Students will be guided step by step as they develop their own dichotomous key for the collection of fasteners. When the keys have been written, the fun begins as students exchange their keys and objects. The principles of classification become obvious immediately. A perfect hands-on, introductory classification activity. Includes teaching suggestions and student materials.
Super Value Kit is complete for 30 students working in pairs. All materials are reusable.
Taxonomic Keys—Super Value Kit
By: The Flinn Staff
Fictitious organisms, the Norits from the planet
Norad, provide an excellent and motivating first experience in the use of a dichotomous key. The unique and unfamiliar structures possessed by the Norits create interest as students use the provided dichotomous key to identify the genus and species name of all ten provided organ- isms. After naming the ten provided organisms, students will then be challenged to draw diagrams of other Norits. An excellent introductory, hands-on activity using a dichotomous key.
Super Value Kit is complete for a class of students working individu- ally. All materials are reusable.
