Rack, Slant
The end plates of this rack allow it to lie at either a 5 or 20 degree angle so that agar slants can be easily and consistently prepared . Holes are letter- and number-keyed . Rack is autoclavable .
Syringe Filters
These quality syringe filters are excellent for cold sterilization of aque- ous solutions, biological samples and cell culture media components . Filters feature sample volumes up to 50 mL, pore size and membrane type printed on the unit to eliminate mixups, blister pak packaging for indefinite sterile storage, surfactant-free cellulose acetate membrane to assure consistent filtration results, and Luer-Lok® fittings .
Fermentation Tube
Designed to verify and measure gas production in fermentation experi- ments . The borosilicate glass tube traps the gas (CO2) as it is evolved . Use fermentation tubes to conduct comparative studies with different microorganisms or with a variety of fermentable sugars . Vertical tube is graduated up to 5 mL in 0 .1 mL divisions—so gas volume can be precisely quantified .
Antibiotic Sensitivity Disks, Difco
These disks are used to test the effectiveness of particular antimicrobial agents (antibiotics) against specific target organisms . The number given after the name of each agent is the dosage per disk in micrograms . An organism is considered sensitive if the resulting zone of inhibition is greater in diameter than the intermediate range given, and insensitive if less . A quantity of 50 disks is supplied in sterile-packed sleeves . Required disk dispenser sold separately . Note: Keep refrigerated, and use within six months of purchase .

  Bacteria Strips for Autoclave Verification
Monitor your autoclave’s performance using bacterial strips! Indicators consist of Bacillus stearothermophilus spores saturated on paper strips, individually placed into envelopes . B. stearothermophilus is a highly resistant, thermophilic species that can grow at temperatures 65 °C and above . To verify autoclave performance, simply place indicators in the autoclave so that they are exposed to the steam . After the cycle is complete, inoculate the strip in tube of broth and incubate at 55– 60 oC for at least 48 hours . If no growth occurs, you can rest assured your autoclave is functioning properly!
