ABO Simulated Blood Typing—

Bring back this important biology lesson to your laboratory. This simu- lated blood typing kit allows the lifelike testing of simulated bloods in the ABO system. Antigen/antibody interactions are modeled on microscope slides. Once students have collected data on three simulated individuals, they consider paternity and genetic questions. No blood or blood products are used. Enough materials to perform over 50 tests.

This simulated blood typing kit allows the lifelike testing of blood types in the ABO system, as well as for Rh factor. Students determine the blood type of four individuals. Actual medical blood-typing plates add to the realism. Once the data has been collected, students consider paternity and genetic questions about the four tested individuals. This amazingly realistic simulation would be a great addition to your immu- nology, health, genetics, or forensics units.
Enough materials to perform over 50 tests. No blood or blood prod­ ucts are used. Blood typing slides are reusable and are not included in the refill kit.

Blood Typing Kit—Simulated ABO, Rh and HIV

A kit for typing simulated blood samples that incorporates a few added dimensions. Included are eight distinct blood samples, each of which can be ABO typed, Rh factor typed, and tested for the presence of HIV antibodies. Hands-on activity is essential to conveying the various concepts involved in blood typing and this is close to the real thing. The agglutination reactions in the positive tests closely approximate those seen with real blood. This activity is perfectly safe as no human (or animal) blood or blood products of any kind are used.
Complete for 12 student groups. Supplied materials are sufficient for up to three classes of 24 students.
