Factors Affecting Reaction Rates—Student Laboratory Kit
What factors affect the rate of a chemical reaction? In this laboratory activity, students will perform the classic iodine–starch clock reaction to quantitatively investigate the effects of concentration, temperature and a catalyst on the rate of reaction. Includes reproducible student handouts, detailed background information and complete Teacher Notes with sample data, calculations and answers to questions, plus all necessary chemicals and specialized equip- ment. Complete for 30 students working in pairs. Fifteen reusable, six-well reaction plates are required and available separately.

Iodine Clock Reaction Kits
Mix two colorless solutions and watch as, after a few seconds, they suddenly change from colorless to dark blue. What an attention-getter! This kit allows you to quantitatively demon- strate the popular iodine-starch clock reaction. Students record six sets of data comparing the effects of concentration, temperature and a catalyst on the measured rate. Explore concepts of kinetics with this dramatic, engaging demonstration or guided-inquiry kit! Teacher Notes included.
