          PROPERTIES OF GASES
     Chemistry of Gases Classroom
This dramatic demonstration shows the
fluid nature of gases. Set up the specially designed ramp with equally spaced candles. Add a clear liquid to the beaker, hold the beaker at the top of the ramp, and pour the invisible contents. One by one the candles are snuffed out! The beaker of sodium bicarbonate and vinegar produce carbon dioxide, which is denser than air and flows down the ramp, displacing the air above the candles and extinguishing the flame. Teacher Demonstration Notes included.
AP7046 | $36.60
Equipment—Super Value Kit
Student equipment kit is designed to accompany any or all of the Flinn Chemistry of Gases student laboratory kits (AP5950, AP5958, AP5959). One equipment kit contains enough reusable materials for 15 lab groups. Includes 15 sets of reusable equipment—syringes, tip caps, gas-generat- ing vial caps and pieces of latex tubing. AP5951 | $82.40
Molar Volume of Hydrogen— Combining Gas Laws—Student Laboratory Kit
The purpose of this microscale experiment
is to determine the volume of one mole of hydrogen gas at standard temperature and pressure. Students generate hydrogen by the reaction of a known quantity of magnesium with excess hydrochloric acid in an inverted graduated cylinder. After collecting the gas, students “combine” the gas laws to calculate the molar volume. Includes student hand- outs, background information, Teacher Notes with sample data and all necessary materials. Complete for 30 students working in pairs. AP6631 | $27.05
Seeing the Invisible—
Chemical Demonstration Kit
   Pressure vs. Temperature Gas
Law Apparatus
Demonstrate the relationship between the pressure and temperature of a gas, and determine the value of absolute zero! This apparatus consists of a Mason pressure flask, dual-scale pressure gauge, syringe with Luer-lock fitting and Luer-lock adapters and stopcocks. Includes Teacher Notes, student worksheet and real sample data.
AP7159 | Gas Law Apparatus | $92.15 AP6049 | Digital Thermometer | $29.30
Properties of Gases and the Gas Laws—Activity-Stations Kit
In this four-lab activity-stations kit, students will investigate the properties of gases, derive the mathematical relationships among the gas variables and use the kinetic-molecular theory to explain the behavior of gases. Complete for 24 students working in groups of three.
AP7092 | $50.00
