Flinn C-Spectra®, 8" x 10" Sheet
Flinn C-Spectra® is an alternative to spectro- scopes for observing orders of the emission spectra of gases in spectrum tubes and spectra in flame tests. Because of its holo- graphic nature, every segment of C-Spectra produces the same pattern, so a single piece can be cut into smaller pieces for student use. C-Spectra is washable and should be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild detergent to prevent scratching. 200 lines/mm. AP1714 | $22.80
Investigating Light and Optics—Student Laboratory Kit
Activity stations let students examine light, color and optics. Observe light reflection and refraction with mirrors, water and transparent objects. Investigate concave and convex lens properties, focus a “real image” and create a telescope. Compare plastics using polarized light, explore color mixing by addition and subtraction and study optical illusions to unveil color perception. Detailed instructions and Teacher Notes are provided.
AP7055 | $160.10
Magnetic Optics and Ray Box Set
Students track a laser beam path as it travels from air into red gelatin. Beams in gelatin let students draw accurate refraction diagrams, which move closer to the normal line on the diagram as light slows and father away as light speeds up until total internal reflection. Measure angles of incidence and refraction to calculate the speed of light in gelatin with Snell’s Law. Includes worksheets, Teacher Notes, sample data and necessary supplies. AP7270 | $70.85
This magnetic optics set is for use on any steel whiteboard to demonstrate optics concepts. Durable, double-ended box has a fan-cooled halogen lamp. One end has a cylindrical lens and plate slots to create parallel beams while the other accepts color filters and adjustable mirrors to study color mixing. Includes acrylic lenses and prisms, a hollow cell, mirrors, color filters and paddles, an experiment manual and more in a convenient storage box.
