The standard demineralizer cartridge is designed for use with the Barnstead Bantam Demineralizer and effectively removes dissolved salts from incoming water. Each cartridge removes approximately 1,725 grains of dissolved solids (as sodium chloride equivalent). The volume of purified water produced depends on the level of ionizable impurities present in the source water—cleaner starting water yields a greater volume of high-quality output. As an example, a single cartridge will purify roughly 172 gallons of water containing about 10 grains per gallon of dissolved solids. This cartridge ensures reliable water purification performance for routine laboratory applications.
