Product Details

How do you make a waiter's tray that won't spill? Use centripetal force, of course! Students build “Greek waiter's” trays to examine the important concepts of centripetal force, friction and Newton's laws of motion. When they place a cup of water in the center of their tray, the student can walk effortlessly around the classroom without spilling a drop-even as they spin the tray in a circle over their heads! Observe the simulated gravitational effects of centripetal motion as the cup and water remain “normal” to the tray, even when the cup and water are upside-down. An excellent way to illustrate how gravity may be simulated in outer space during future space missions. Super Value Kit is complete for 10 student groups. All materials are reusable!
