Item #: FB2367

Price: $323.65

Ships directly from the manufacturer.

With these kits, students determine the species of fish, mammals, insects, or fungi based on the DNA sequence of a standard reference gene or internal transcribed spacer. Students extract DNA, amplify the gene by PCR, verify PCR products by agarose gel electrophoresis, sequence the gene, and then use the sequence obtained and bioinformatics to identify the species. The unique sequence produced for a given sample is considered to be its DNA barcode.
