The exciting and hands-on Bottle Rockets Kit lets students convert empty plastic soda bottles into rockets that “defy gravity” and launch high in the air. Students learn important STEM principles, including the four forces of flight (focusing on thrust), Newton’s laws, acceleration, stability and recovery. Kit includes enough materials for 25 rockets: 25 pieces of transition cone paper stock, 25 parachutes, 25 nose cone balls, three types of fin stock (15 pieces of balsa, 12 pieces of “40pt” recycled paper, 8 pieces of “70pt” recycled paper), thirteen 18" body tubes, 600 feet of string and 150 reinforcement holes. Enhance the experience with the WhiteBox Learning standards-based, cloud-based Rockets 2.0 STEM Software Application (available separately). This software lets students design, analyze and simulate (test) their designs virtually then print templates to scale and build physical models. Students provide 1-L, 2-L or 20-oz empty plastic soda bottles. Rocket launcher available separately. Tire pump, cool-melt glue gun and glue, scissors and tape required but not included.
